Rail traffic in the direction of Baku in Azerbaijan was stopped earlier because of an accident. It has now been resumed, a spokesman for Azerbaijani Railways, Nadir Azmammadov, told Trend today.
He said that work is under way to restore movement from Baku to the country's western regions.
A commission has been established to investigate the accident.
Seven tanks with oil were derailed in Azerbaijan's Hajigabul region. A fire occurred as a result of the accident, the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said today.
According to the report, seven of 40 tanks of the train, carrying crude oil from Baku to Georgia, were derailed at Pirsaat station. Three tanks overturned, with a capacity of 60 tons each. Oil spilled in an area of 1,000 square meters and burst into flames.
