The World Bank has issued $40 million for the realization of Armenian road reconstruction program, Panorama reports.
The bank“s press-service reported that the board of executive directors approved the second additional financing of $40 million on July 15.
the Armenian road program will provide villages with access to major road. The program will also help Armenia cope with the world economic downturn.
The second additional finances will help reconstruct 190 km of roads, many of which are in urgent need of repair.
An additional program will create temporary jobs and improve the availability of social services, the Wordl bank director for South Caucasian countries, Asad Alam, said.
