Transiters of the Nabucco West Gas Pipeline have published a declaration confirming support of the project. The document was presented at the political committee of Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH in Sofia.
The document urges shareholders of Nabucco West to start gas transportation between Bulgaria and Turkey.
Nabucco Gas Pipeline International Gmb Director General Reinhard Mitchek says that the declaration reaffirms the legal basis of the project.
OMV (Austria), FGSZ (Hungary), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), Transgaz (Romania), Botas (Turkey) and RWE (Germany) are the shares of the project. SOCAR, BP, Statoil and Total plan to buy 50% of Nabucco West. They will control the Southern Gas Corridor route.
Nabucco West will be 1300km long. 412km will run through Bulgaria, 469km through Romania, 384km through Hungary, 47km through Austria. Gas for the pipeline will be extracted from the Shah Deniz Field in Azerbaijan.
