The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has started drilling borehole N2533 at Neftyanye Kamni, 1news.az reports.
The borehole will be 1800m deep, drilled by platform N2521. It will give 10 tons of oil daily.
Neftyanye Kamni have been developed since 1949. Neftyanye Kamni and Gryzevaya Sopka have given 173 million tons of oil. About 30 million tons are left for extraction.
