Iran will file a complaint against BP for its activities in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Iran News reports.
Ali-Reza Qarbasi, deputy head of the organization for sea environment, noted that a lawsuit of Iran against BP concerns pollution in the sea. The British company throws waste out into the sea, instead of pumping it into boreholes 6,000m deep.
Qarbasi emphasized that the pollution had caused damage to flora and fauna. He reminded about oil spots appearing in the past 4 months. Iranian specialists had to remove 25 tons of oil from the surface of the Caspian Sea.
