The Chechen Republic will construct roads to connect the Vedensky and Shatoisky highland regions of the country, and to provide access to inaccessible mountainous tracts.
The road will be part of a federal project and will provide access to forest areas in the event of fires, floods, landslides, or other disasters.
The road will also allow herders to graze cattle in the alpine meadows; researchers will be able to look for mineral deposits; while environmentalists, scientists and rangers could use the road to study and protect historical sites and natural reserves. The road will also facilitate tourism development.
