Georgian Ministry of Refugee Affairs completes institutional improvement project

The project of institutional improvement of the Georgian Ministry of Refugee Affairs has been completed. For 18 months the US international development agency has been cooperating with the ministry to improve the efficiency of protecting the interests of refugees, Georgia Online reports.


The Minister for Refugee Affairs and Settlement, Koba Subeliani, noted that the within the framework of the project they had developed a strategy of communication to provide refugees with information and formed a monitoring council and carried out structural reorganization.


The minister noted that they had formed modern centers where refugees can get answers to their questions and where their complaints will be looked into. This has improved the settlement process of the refugees, the rehabilitation of community centers and privatization.
