The Kazakh authorities plan to grant 450 million tenge of subsidies for seed purchases, Trend cites Minister for Agriculture Asylzhan Mamytbekov.
The price per ton of elite seeds reached 70,000 tenge this year. The upper limit of subsidies for their purchase increased from 19,500 tenge to 25,000 tenge.
The minister predicts a deficit of about 80,000 tons of seeds. This means a deficit of 12,200 tons in the Aktobe Province, 7,000 tons in the West Kazakhstan Province, 60,000 tons in the Kostanay Province. 55,400 tons will be compensated by the provinces. The product food corporation will grant loans for 24,000 tons.
