Georgia starts constructing new port

Construction of a new Georgian port has started on the Supsa River in the Lanchutskiy region. An outline presentation of the port with its six moorings took place at the Lanchkhuti municipal headquarters, Business Georgia reports.


Construction is being carried out by ‘Black Sea product’. The facility will be launched in 2012. The company is currently preparing the site and carrying out drainage works. The port itself will take up 46 hectares, with its infrastructure and terminals occupying 180 hectares. The port will provide services for containers and combined shipments. It will have reverse lines.
