Chechnya plans to carry out cardinal modernization of Grozny Airport and development of Grozny Avia. Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov noted that the airport will soon become part of the federal purpose program for development of the Russian transport system.
The Russian Transport Ministry has already sent a conclusion to the Finance Ministry and the funds needed for modernization of the airport are being calculated.
Kadyrov added that Chechen planes had a better lifespan than those in other republics of the North Caucasian Federal District.
According to the Chechen leader, Yak planes were more reliable. Chechnya has recently bought three of them and plans to buy CRG jets for domestic flights. Purchases of Airbus jets, considered better than Boeing jets, are being negotiated.
