Iranian oil minister arrives in Ankara

Iranian Minister of Oil Masud Mirkazemi arrived in Ankara on July 21st, heading a delegation, Iran News reports.


In an interview to IRNA he said that he was invited by the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yildiz, and they will exchange opinions on further development of cooperation between the two countries in such spheres as oil and gas, oil chemistry, oil refining and gas supply.


The Iranian minister pointed out the constant cooperation between Iran and Turkey in the sphere of energy. One of the goals of the visit is removing obstacles to further development of bilateral energy relations.


On July 22nd the ministers will sign various agreements on oil and gas industry and gas sales. Iran is one of the main crude oil suppliers to Turkey and its second largest gas supplier. The trade turnover between the two countries is reaching $10 billion. Iran buys some of its petrol from Turkey.
