The Zavod Krasnoye Sormovo in Nizhny Novgorod will build two tankers for Turkmenistan. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered signing of the contract.
The tankers will be suitable for river and sea transportation of up to 7100 tons of petroleum. They will help realize the general plan for development of the Turkmenbashi Port and supplement the national trade fleet until 2020.
Russian enterprises have been cooperating with Turkmenistan for four years. Russia has built four tankers for Turkmenistan, with the last one built by Krasnoye Sormovo in May 2012.
The first tanker “Jeykhun” was built in 2010 and put on the list of ships of 2010 of the British Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
