Kazakhstan considers transit of oil through Turkmenistan and Iran

 

Kayrgeldy Kabyldin, Director General of KazTransOil, said that the republic considered transit of its oil to the Gulf using the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, Trend reports.

He noted that response of the EU and the US cannot be predicted, but will be taken into account.

The Uzen-Etrek-Gorgan Railway will open in late spring 2013. It will give Asian and European states access to the Gulf and Central Asia. They will also be able to transit cargo from South-Eastern and South Asia, from the coast of the Indian Ocean to Eastern and North Europe through Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia.
