JOGMEG (Japan) has extracted natural gas from methane hydrate from crystals gathered from a depth of 1.3km.
Japan’s Honshu Island has enough reserves of methane hydrate to supply the country with gas for 14 years. Scientists say that they contain 7 trillion cubic meters of gas.
