Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s spokeswoman Iveta Tonoyan emphasized that he never had plans to purchase Armavia, Armenia Today reports.
Concerning the meeting of Tsarukyan and Armavia owner Mika Bagdasarov, Tonoyan noted that there was no information about that meeting ever happening.
According to the Graparak paper, the two officials had a meeting. Tsarukyan was convincing Bagdasarov to announce bankruptcy to sell the company. The government is opposed to the idea to avoid public protests of staff demanding wages, the paper says.
