Iran prioritizes trade with China

Iranian Ambassador to China Mehdi Safari said at a business council in China that the two states should increase trade.

The ambassador noted that Iranian businessmen attended over 30 international exhibitions in China in the past year (ending on March 20, according to Iranian calendar).

Asadollah Asgarouladi, head of the Iranian-Chinese trade chamber, reminded that China was the top trade partner of Iran and invested $600 million in the Islamic state. Trade turnover of Iran and China totaled $37 billion in 2012, compared with $45 billion in 2011. Asgarouladi emphasized the need to boost trade with China as an economic priority of Iran.
