World Bank develops new strategy for Azerbaijan

 

The World Bank plans to make a review of its projects in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

WB’s chief economist in Azerbaijan Mona Prasad, heads of projects Anastasia Alexandrova and Mesker Mulatu will visit Azerbaijan in April.

The Azerbaijani government and the WB are determining their cooperation initiatives until mid-2014.

Azerbaijan discussed 56 projects with the WB until January 1, 2013. A loan of $3.122 billion was granted. $894.1 million were granted for 36 projects and $2.228 billion for 20. $1.714 billion (54.5% of total sum) were used up by January 1, 2013.

The WB issued 44 grants worth $41.37 million to Azerbaijan in 1995-2012.
