Iran produces uranium rods for Bushehr nuclear power plant

Specialists of the Uranium Conservation Foundation (UCF) in Isfahan have produced uranium rods for the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Trend cites Mohammad Janad Maragi, deputy head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization.

Iran started the rod production after rejections to ship 20%-enriched uranium for medical research. Rods were successfully loaded at the Tehran Research Reactor in February 2012.

It was a success of Surah, the company that produced the rods for the Bushehr facility.

Rods were made in Iran for the Tehran Research Reactor and the IR40 reactor in Arak.
