A bill initiated by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to ban the retail sale of energy drinks, was passed by the Chechen parliament today. From now on it is impossible to buy energy drinks in Chechnya.
Kadyrov had previously stressed the importance of the ban due to the increased number of poisoning cases in Chechnya. Last year, the Republican Hospital ambulance brought in 530 people poisoned by energy drinks.
The new law restricts retail sale of these drinks, RIA Novosti reports.
