Baikonur space centre could have been built in Russia, Vladimir Gubarev says

Space Exploration and Aviation Day is being marked in Russia on April 12th. VK talked to editor of the Pravda and the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspapers, Vladimir Gubarev, about the history of space exploration in Russia.


According to Gubarev, Kazakhstan was lucky enough to host the Baikonur space centre. There was also an idea to built the space centre in Russia.

"If this decision had been made six months later, there would have been no space centre in Kazakhstan," he said.
