Ukraine has preferd a request for consultations with Armenia to WTO Dispute Settlement Body. According to the Ukrainian side, Armenia uses the flat-sum tax on Ukrainian tobacco products, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
In Armenia excise rate for import products is 6500 dram for 1000 cigarettes and 4750 dram for domestic products, according to the law on “Flat taxes on tobacco products” from 24th of March 2000. Using the excise tax on alcoholic drinks, Armenia also discremenates imported products from Ukraine. If Ukraine is not satisfied by the consultations, it can call a group of experts to ajust the dispute. Armenia has to answer the request in 10 days.
