Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the order for expansion of the Sochi Port in the Krasnodar Territory today, RBC reports.
The port will be able to serve ships with a length of up to 311 meters and capacity of 3,000 passengers. The port will have a passenger flow of 315,000 annually.
It will boost tourism flow in the Black Sea.
Medvedev signed an order to expand the Taman Port to increase cargo flow from Ukraine and Turkey.
Russian Minister for Transportation Victor Olersky said in November 2012 that Taman was suitable for quick construction of a large port with a cargo turnover of about 100 million tons a year.
