Armenia asks EU's permission to style its brandy as cognac

Armenia is holding talks with the European Union in order to keep labelling its brandy as cognac, while cognac is a registered brand in the EU, Armenian deputy finance minister Garegin Melkonyan said.

The Armenian side is trying to explain to the European authorities that in Armenia cognac is considered to be a kind of drink rather than a brand.
