Freighting on the South Caucasus Railway increased by 6.1% in Q1 2013, compared with the same quarter in 2012, totaling 648,600 tons, News Armenia reports.
Export and import freighting dropped by 1.8% and 1.7% to 95,300 tons and 229,000 tons respectively. Local volumes increased by 15.3% to 324,300 tons.
The railway had infrastructure improved and risks of cargo losses reduced.
