President of the Syrian Central Bank Adib Mayal said yesterday that Damascus was about to sign an agreement on financial assistance with Russia and Iran, RIA Novosti reports.
The official said that Syria had suffered an economic loss of about 25 billion eurp in the past two years of the civil war. The Syrian currency halved in prices from 51 pounds per dollar to 115.
He noted that the country was not in urgent need of financial aid, because it had enough currency reserves to resist the attacks. He denied information about deficit of finances to pay functionaries.
