Azerbaijani housing resources have increased by 30% in the last 20 years. Income of the population has tripled, as stated by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Sevindzh Gasanov at a conference on housing and utilities.
Azerbaijan fulfills its energy demands, expands the gas network and plumbing.
The Housing Code was adopted in October 2009. Over 80% of housing has been privatized since 1980. The deputy minister added that old buildings constructed in the Soviet times are the main problem.
