The authorities of ‘Azerenergy’ (the state monopoly in the production and transport of electricity) decided to develop non-traditional energy in Azerbaijan, Turan reports.
The head of the Azerbaijani institute of energy projects (a part of ‘Azerenergy’), Nurali Yusifov, said Azerbaijan will produce 900 megawatts of energy in 2015 by using alternate and renewable energy sources, which will be 10% of the total energy production in the country.
He noted that the result will mainly be reached by using hydro electric plants. Yusifov said that they are gradually introducing wind power plants.
