Israeli, Turkish, Russian businessmen discuss Dagestani industry

Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov discussed industry and agriculture of Dagestan at a meeting with businessmen from Israel, Turkey and Russia, RIA Dagestan reports.


Israeli Minister for Agriculture Shalom Simhon, Director General of Nergiz Textile Mustafa Caglar, President of Patero Development and head of the Israeli-Russian Business Council Teymuraz Khikhinashvili, head of the Business Commonwealth Foundation Abbas Abbasov attended the talks.


Abdulatipov expressed hope for realization of the textile industrial project. He emphasized that Dagestan had 5 million units of cattle to boost animal husbandry.


Russian Deputy Minister for Industry and Rrade Georgy Kalmanov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had decided to develop a light industry cluster in Dagestan and the North Caucasian Federal District in early March.


Abbasov noted that Dagestan will focus on development of agriculture and has interest in Israeli projects. He hopes that all investors will get information about the laws and tax policy of the republic.


Simhon said that Israel had the fifth fastest-developing agriculture in the world. He plans to support Dagestan's agricultural development. Mark Weltman, director of LR Group in Eastern Europe, offered participation in projects. Heads of the Derbentsky and Kayakentsky Districts urged Israeli businessmen to cooperate with municipalities.


Dagestan has 20 major projects realized: the program for development of agriculture of Dagagrocomplex, formation of the AgroDagItalia agricultural park using Agro-Invest modules, construction and reconstruction of farms with 10,000 cattle in the Kizlyarsky, Tarumovsky and Babayurtovsky District, Kizlyaragrocomplex and others. Raushedo is building a complex for grape seed growing.
