The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia approved plans by of the hydro electric company RusHydro to purchase a set of small hydro electric plants, RIA Novosti reports.
The company is planning to buy the small Ossetian Fiagdonskaya hydro plant, the Verkhnebalkarskaya small hydro plant in Kabardino-Balkaria, and small hydro plants in Karachay-Cherkessia and in Dagestan’.
RusHydro is Russia's largest generating company, uniting 60 facilities using renewable energy producing a total of 25.4 gigawatts. The government holds 60.38% of shares.
