The Azerbaijani Central Bank and Tax Ministry have prepared a package of proposals to stimulate cashless payments.
Deputy Chairman of the board of the bank Alim Guliyev said that wages to staff should be paid using plastic cards. VAT will be scrapped for cashless payments. The goal is to minimize cash payments and boost electronic payment systems, improve access of business and society to electronic services. Foreign experience will be studied for the matter.
