Dvorkovich: Excise duty on euro-petrol to rise slightly
The Russian government has not supported the Ministry of Finance's idea about an accelerated increase in the excise duty on "Euro-4" and "Euro-5" gasoline, and gave up the idea of raising the export duty on fuel oil at 70% of the rate of the duty for oil in 2014. It is ready to support the proposal for only a slight increase in the excise tax on "Euro-4" and "Euro-5" gasoline to top up the road funds, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said today. The Deputy Prime Minister declined to give specific figures, noting that "the government generally supported the proposal of the Ministry of Energy for excise taxes on gasoline and a compromise has been reached."
