Iran wants support of Islamic Development Bank

 

Iranian Minister for Economy and Finances Shamseddin Hosseini has urged the Islamic Development Bank to play the key role in the project for transfer of hydro power from Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Iran, Trend reports.

Hosseini met President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Muhammad Ali at the 38th session of the council of managers and said that the three states wanted the bank to support the project.

He reminded that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad paid special attention to the bank’s part in construction of a railway between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran.

Ahmad Mohammad Ali praised cooperation with Iran and expressed interest of the Iranian president in the bank and attention paid to Central Asia.
