Ramazan Veliyev, Director General of Delta Telecom (Azerbaijan), said today that the Europe Persia Express Gateway (EPEG) was launched.
TIC (Iran), Omantel (Oman), Rostelecom (Russia) and Cable & Wireless built the fiber-optic line. It connects Oman and Frankfurt through Azerbaijan, Poland and Ukraine. EPEG has a traffic of 3.2 TB/s. It is about 10,000km long.
The cable will increase capacity to 15 Tb.
