Four Balkan states prepare for Caspian gas

Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia have signed a memorandum of understanding in Albania yesterday to finance and construct the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Ionian-Adriatic Pipelina (IAP) which will transport gas from Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea, RIA Novosti reports.

TAP will be 520km long (870km stated on the official website will connect Greece, Albania, Adriatic Sea and Apulia.

The IAP will be 530km long and will be a TAP branch. The IAP is worth 610.5 million euro. It will connect Fieri (Albania) and Split (Croatia) through Monetenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
