Kudepstinskaya power plant may move to Novorossiysk or Grozny

 

The Kudepstinskaya thermal power plant in Sochi may move to Novorossiysk or Grozny. Forecasted electricity consumption in Sochi dropped by 40%, from 1.38GW to 850MW., Kommersant reports.

Sintez was to build the power plant, passing the project to Gazenergostroy in late 2011. State expertise permitted construction of the power plant in late May 2013. 5.87 billion rubles have been spent on designing and preparing the platform for its construction.

Sergey Chernin, head of Gazenergostroy, said that that the company wanted to participate in the mechanism of refunding the investments.
