The new bridge that is going to be to be built over the Bosphorus and connect the European and Asian parts of Istanbul will be named after Yavuz Sultan Selim, one of the most prominent sultans in Ottoman history, Hürriyet Daily News reports.
The sultan, also known as Selim the Grim, was famous for his conquests in the East.
The 59-meter-wide bridge will be the widest one in the world.
