Kazakhstan will launch the Astana-Shchukinsk highway with a fee of $13 (200 tenge) per car on May 31. The road will lie between Astana and Borovoye, Trend reports.
Fees for buses will depend on the number of seats, ranging from 5 to 10 tenge. 5-20 tenge will be paid for trucks, depending on their weight. Rescue vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, police cars and motorbikes will be free of payments.
Pay roads exist in over 30 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia. Such roads will reduce the burden for maintaining them.
Kazakhstan has the cheapest price for pay roads.
