In the Shelkovsky region of Chechnya, more than 20 thousand hectares of land are captivated by the locusts. The struggle against agricultural pests is undertaken, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic reports.
"There are activities for processing and destroying the pests: we processed more than 4226 hectares of land, including processing from planes - 50 hectares, farming method - 35 hectares", the MOE reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Organization "Rosselhoztsentr", as of June 9 in Chechnya more than 24,980 hectares of land have been studied. It is revealed that the area of settlement of the pests is about 20,700 hectares.
