Turkey has started construction of 73km of 180km of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway today, APA reports.
Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian ministers of transportation met in Kars today and observed the construction process.
The railway project includes construction of the 105-km railway line and reconstruction of the Akhalkalaki-Marabda-Tbilisi section in Georgia. The railway will gain access to Europe and have a maximum capacity of 30 million tons of goods a year.
