Turkey and Ukraine to realize joint energy project

 

Turkey and Ukraine will realize the joint project for gas extraction in the Black Sea and the project for storage of Turkish gas in Europe, Trend cites Ukrainian Minister for Energy Yuri Boyko at a press conference in Ankara.

Ukraine has enough room in reservoirs to store about 30 billion cubic meters of gas. Turkey was offered to buy gas in the summer when the prices were low to use it in winter.

Turkey’s BOTAS reported that about 12.74 billion cubic meters of gas had been imported in January-March 2013, compared with 10.88 billion in January-March 2011.

Turkey realized 12.85 billion cubic meters of gas at the domestic market in January-March 2013, compared with 11.68 billion in January-March 2012.
