Iran plans to build nuclear power plants to produce 20GW of electricity, ITAR-TASS cites Fereydun Abbasi Davani, head of the Organization for Atomic Energy of Iran, at the 3rd International Conference of the IAEA.
Iran will develop nuclear energy by signing agreements to build new nuclear energy blocks and by opening new facilities to produce equipment for nuclear power plants.
He also said that Russia would soon put the Bushehr nuclear power plant under Iranian control. Davani added that attendance of the IAEA conference in Saint-Petersburg demonstrated the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program.
