The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and gas producers involved in the "Shah Deniz" project are going to create gas infrastructure in Albania, the vice-president of SOCAR Elshad Nasirov said.
"Between the Government of Albania and SOCAR there is an agreement that, in the case of choosing the TAP route to export gas to Europe from the "Shah Deniz" field, SOCAR will work to build gas infrastructure in Albania, as well as to use underground gas storage facilities", Nasirov said.
Currently, natural gas is not used in Albania, and there is no gas infrastructure; it will be created from scratch, he added.
