Gelendzhik to have a crocodile farm

The village of Arhipo-Osipovka near the Kuban resort town of Gelendzhik will become known due to the first crocodile farm in the province. Over an area of 200 sq m in open air cages several species of crocodiles are to be bred.

"The size of the crocodiles range from 40 cm to 2 m, and there are kids, the youngest just 3 months old. Next to the fearsome predators, iguanas, terrestrial and freshwater turtles, lizards, snakes and other interesting animals live peacefully," the statement of the press service of the administration of Gelendzhik reads.

The farm will operate outdoors until late September, and then, when it gets too cold, the crocodiles, will move into sheltered accommodation.
