Russian company to help modernize Iranian thermal plant

Under a contract with the Iranian state company ‘Ahwaz Power Generation Management Co. (Ramin Power Plant)’, the Russian company ‘Power Machines’ will provide equipment for the modernization of the fourth energy block of  Iran's ‘Ramin’ thermal power plant, Iran News reports, citing Power Machines.


The Russian company will modernize the wheel space of the low-pressure steam turbine cylinder, with a power of 300 megawatts. The engineering will have been shipped out by the first quarter of 2011.


The Iranian power plant and the engineering concern have a long history of cooperation. In the period from 1976 to 1993 ‘Power Machines’ produced and shipped 6 TBB-320 turbo generators with hydrogen-water cooling for ‘Ramin’. Their power is 320 megawatts each. Their total power together with the condenser is 1800 megawatts.
