Russian migration chief says tendencies prove economic progress

Constantine Romodanovsky, head of the Russian Federal Migration Service, said that over 10 million migrants had arrived in Russia in the past 1.5 years, exceeding the previous year’s figures by 12%.

Romodanovsky said at the trade and Industry Chamber that migration tendencies proved economic progress. He added that only 800,000 foreigners were permanent residents in Russia.
