Iran to increase export of electric power to 20 GW/h

Iran will be able to export 20 thousand MW/h of electricity by the end of the next Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2015), the managing director of MAPNA Abbas Abadi said.

"Iran is currently exporting 1,400 MW/h of electricity to neighboring countries. With manufacturing facilities of 70 GW/h of electricity, Iran ranks 14th in the list of the world's largest producers of electricity," Trend quotes Abadi.

For the construction of new power plants Iran attracted $1.1 billion of investment that will allow the country to become a major regional exporter of electricity.
