The Norwegian company Statoil is planning to start bilateral negotiations with potential clients on gas supplies, concerning some 10 billion cubic meters a year from the second stage of the “Shah Deniz” project, reports 1news.az, citing the Wall Street Journal. Gas supplies in the second stage of the “Shah Deniz” field's development will amount to 16 billion cubic meters a year from 2016, or possibly from 2014. The owners of “Shah Deniz” are negotiating with the Nabukko project, the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) consortium and the Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy (ITGI) pipeline.
