The Turkish foreign trade deficit in June 2013 increased by 18.9%, compared with June 2013, and totaled $8.5 billion, Trend reports.
Turkish export dropped by 6% in June 2013 and totaled $12.4 billion. Imports totaled $21.8 billion in the year, increasing by 2.8%.
Import from the EU in June 2013 totaled 41.6% of all imports, compared with June 2012. Exports to the EU increased by 5.3% to $5.1 billion.
Germany is the biggest importer of Turkish products, increasing imports 3.5-fold in June to $1.1 billion, followed by Iraq with $925 million, UK $605 million.
China imported Turkish products worth $2.7 billion, exceeding the volume in June 2012 by 20.4%, followed by Germany $1.9 billion and Russia $1.4 billion.
