Batumi is selling the territory of a closed-down oil refinery. According to the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Stable Development, the land and the structures of the refinery are for sale. The starting price is $14.5 million.
Participation requests are being accepted until 13:00 on September 1st, the sale will start at 17:00, Business Georgia reports.
The Corporation of Oil and Gas of Georgia declared its interest in preparing the technical-economic documents for the refinery on June 15th. Engineers India Limited, Granherne, Purvin & Gertz, FLUOR, SK Engineering & Construction, PDC and OTC Capital are interested in the sale.
According to the corporation, the oil refinery is not operating and that is the reason why the country fully depends on imports.
