According to a statement by Georgian Agriculture Minister, Georgia plans to export 350,000 head of sheep to Asian markets this year, 10,000 have already been exported. The Minister stressed the importance of this new export-item for the country's economic development.
The statistical data indicates that in 2009 Georgia exported 267,144 sheep worth 173,434,198 dollars to Armenia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Azerbaijan.
